Location
The
Rheinburg-Klinik lies in the Appenzeller Vorderland, about 600 metres
above sea level. This "vantage point over Lake Constance", opens
out onto a wonderful panorama across the lake, the "three-country
corner" (where France, Germany and Switzerland meet) and the Silvretta
region.
The clinic is housed in a grand former hotel building, now carefully restored.
After various extensions and alterations, it has become a modern specialist
clinic with a pleasant, hotel-like atmosphere.
Facilities
The Rheinburg-Klinik has 57 beds. It runs a private department with single-bedded
rooms, a semi-private department with two-bedded rooms and a general department
for those with basic insurance cover which has three-bedded rooms.
All rooms have their own bathroom and one direct-dial telephone per patient. The private rooms are furnished with an LCD television set. The rooms in the semi-private and general department are fitted with one multimedia terminal (TV/radio/telephone) per patient. Patients in all rooms can avail themselves of broadband internet access using either their own laptop or one provided by the hospital. There is a fee for this service for patients in the general department.
A modern electronic security system ensures that even those patients who are at risk of running away can roam freely in the park.
